Rural Youth Future Explores Bulgarian Youth Initiatives

Rural Youth Future’, a collaborative project dedicated to enhancing youth empowerment and entrepreneurship in rural areas, has embarked on an interregional study visit in Bulgaria from April 3rd to April 4th, 2024. This initiative aims to exchange knowledge and experiences among partners and stakeholders to improve the role of youth policies for sustainable rural development.

The study visit will kick off with participants arriving at Hotel Domaine in Peshtera, Bulgaria, marking the beginning of an immersive experience. The agenda for the visit has been meticulously designed to facilitate meaningful discussions and insights into successful youth initiatives in Bulgaria.

On the second day, a series of presentations will be followed by esteemed speakers. These presentations will cover various projects and good practices, including youth employment and entrepreneurship in rural areas, youth engagement in society, and innovative projects like the RuralLAB 3.0 Project. Participants will also have the opportunity to delve into municipal activities targeting youths, gaining valuable insights from experts from Peshtera Municipality. The day will conclude with a Networking dinner, fostering collaboration and idea-sharing among partners.

The third day will find participants venturing into rural regions across Bulgaria for on-site study visits. These visits provide firsthand insights into successful youth initiatives and projects in Bratsigovo, Peshtera, Velingrad, Batak, and Rakitovo. Attendees will explore youth centres, community centres, and municipal youth offices, gaining inspiration for potential implementation in their own regions.

As the study visit draws to a close on the fourth day, partners will depart, having gained invaluable insights and forging new connections. The experience promises to inform future endeavours in rural youth empowerment and entrepreneurship, contributing to sustainable rural development.
