Peer review on SME support for trade and export

The Policy Learning Platform Peer Review on SME support for trade and export will be hosted by ACCIÓ, the public agency for the competitiveness of Catalan enterprises. It will take place on 17 and 18 October in Barcelona, Spain.  

Four talented peers from Flandres, Wallonia, England and Scotland are coming together to discuss the most adapted models of regional policies focused on support initiatives for information and assistance to help SMEs to overcome trade barriers during the export process.  

The peer review will focus on:  

  1. Making best use of EU Level Support and Regulations: how to obtain direct help from mechanisms provided by the EU and to understand how other regions make use of the EU mechanisms to denounce trader barriers
  2. International and Interregional Cooperation for Trade Promotion: how to increase an international collaboration network with experts on taxation, logistics and European Regulation, as well as other institutions that offer a similar Trade Desk services.
  3. Regional and Local Implementation of Trade Desk: how to promote the regional services among local companies and how to increase the effectiveness of current training programmes for SMEs.

The summary report will be shared after the peer review has taken place.
