JEWELS TOUR: Local Stakeholder Group Meeting in Erfurt

The 2025 has started just in the same way last year has finished, with several activities of our JEWELS TOUR project.

In December, the Municipality of Erfurt had an online meeting with project stakeholders. After serval smaller individual meetings, for the first time different representatives from the University, the Jewish community and tourist experts, gathered all together to discuss project objectives and to activate synergies and cooperate.

In the first days of January, instead, the Municipality of Erfurt organized a meeting in the Small Synagogue of the city to investigate some tourism topics and challenges, since the numbers of visitors in the city and in the Jewish sites has increased a lot in the last two years. The Municipality discussed how to support the tourist board, and so many steps were individuated (es. updating the exhibition in the Jewish quarter, producing new flyers with information touristic information, making contents accessible via the website as well).

These meetings are part of a bigger project strategy that at a general level aims at improving Jewish and cultural heritage valorization. In February activities and initiatives linked to stakeholder engagement and project development continued and others are yet to come!
