BioInvestIt 2025: Where Circular Economy Meets Investors
The initiative is organised by the SPRING cluster (which aims to network partners carrying out research along all the supply chains of the bioeconomy), in collaboration with the European Circular Bioeconomy Fund and Bio4dreams (a certified incubator of innovative start-ups at a very early stage in the life sciences), with the support of local partner.
The event on March the 5th, in addition to serve as a networking space for various local stakeholders, will be instrumental in accessing the second edition of the BioInvestIT competition. This competition is aimed at businesses, startups, and projects operating in the field of the circular economy. The event represents the Turin stop of the National Roadshow.
BioInvestIT Competition Structure:
Phase 1 – Scouting and Selection
Entrepreneurs and SMEs submit their proposals, with up to 10 projects advancing to the next stage. To encourage participation, a National Roadshow — organized by SPRING and local partners such as, in the case of the event in Turin, the University of Turin, the 2i3T incubator, NODES (innovation ecosystem created with RRF funds) — will introduce BioInvestIT to researchers, businesses, start-ups, and SMEs. At each stop, selected applicants will pitch to local investors, and the most promising ones will gain direct entry to the Investor Arena Meeting.
Phase 2 – Investor Arena Meeting
A national event where the top 10 participants present their projects to investors, industry leaders, and tech experts. Up to three finalists will be chosen to compete on a European stage.
Phase 3 – European Investment Forum (BioInvest Europe)
Finalists with global potential will pitch at international investment events across Europe, hosted by SPRING and its partners (Irish Bioeconomy Foundation, CLIB, BioBase Europe Pilot Plant, Bioeconomy for Change). These high-profile forums offer valuable networking opportunities and expert feedback from leading investors.
The Roadshow in Turin
During the day, industry experts will discuss the challenges and opportunities of the bioeconomy, following these agenda:

- “European projects and good practices: Nodes Spoke 2” by Cristina Prandi (University of Turin)
