About this good practice
The school is based in SĆ£o Vicente, in a rehabilitated building with three training rooms with capacity for 25-50 trainees, an auditorium for 164 people, and others administrative and logistical support spaces for all the formative community.Considering the target audience, the school has 2 8-seat vans for farmers and trainers that facilitate their travel from anywhere in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
With the aim of increasing regional competitiveness, the Agriculture School of Madeira has training courses for those interested in developing and deepening their skills in agriculture, in its different production structures, transformation and commercialization, as well as in the protection and improvement of agriculture, food security and as a consequence in the living conditions of the Madeira Autonomous Regionās rural populations, with positive effects in the regional economy.
The school empowers farmers in different areas such as flowers production, banana, mushrooms, beekeeping, pruning and grafting, custard apple, shoot production, as well as training in the area of livestock: breading and transport of animals and the course of application of plant protection products.
