Im.patto: a pact with the territory. Call for ideas to support territorial development projects.
About this good practice
Im.patto is a call for ideas that aim to fund projects that develop actions aimed at promoting the value of food, in its various aspects: as a cultural element of social aggregation, as a means of promoting health, as a "pleasure of food", strengthening the link between food and sustainability. The projects are developed with a view to: creating support for the new fragility, with support actions based on mutual responsibility; strengthening the connection between people and the surrounding environment; enhancing the cultural richness and tradition of local communities; giving attention to the care of themselves, others and their living environment; educating to conscious consumption; enhancing the aspects of conviviality, lightness and play.
the phases of im.pact are:
- collecting the project ideas received, based on the areas of intervention indicated from Agenda 2030;
- evaluation of the proposals;
- constitution of local working groups composed of the proposing subjects. Each table will elaborate a territorial project idea from the selected proposals;
- From idea to project: local projects will be developed and implemented by involving other partners in the area.

Potential for learning or transfer
A company's commitment to the circular economy and sustainable territorial development (social and economic) takes the form of a project-based financing plan. In this sense, the incentive for action by a private entity is a model that can and must be replicated by the Managing Authorities. This project is an example of how to operate for a regional/local administration in planning policies to support business and market development for CE activities.
The ways in which Im.Patto wants to address food security and accessibility to basic necessities - support and promotion of the territory through the connections within it - are relevant for the public administration to handle itself in order to fulfill its task of achieving social as well as economic objectives involving a great network of different stakeholder: improvement of living and working conditions, social protection, the fight against exclusion, poverty, and discrimination.
