About this good practice
Frami Campus includes key actors of agri-food sector in higher education and RDI: Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences, University Consortium of Seinäjoki, Into Seinäjoki Business Development, Natural Resources Finland (LUKE). Cooperation between actors is tight, and they have committed to develop the agri-food sector cluster together.
Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences offers higher education from the whole food value chain and technology, making it possible for students and to have multidisciplinary knowhow and cooperation.
Frami area also includes offices of Regional Council of South Ostrobothnia and several companies from e.g. ICT-sector – this makes cooperation and personal contacts easier with every actor.
Common location helps to develop the cooperation, but above all, the Good Practice is about willingness to cooperate and develop the region together. Key actors have actively worked together in several projects and actions to strengthen the local agri-food sector cluster and make the region visible as the Food Province of Finland. After the latest ERDF-project, they have also committed to continue the cooperation as a part of their own actions, without other funding at the moment.
The cooperation benefits agri-food sector companies, R&D actors and the region by visibility, knowhow and concrete actions, which the actors would not be able to do alone.
The practice is implemented by cooperation network Food Forum and several related projects and contacts.
