This is the good practice's implementation level. It can be national, regional or local.
About this good practice

Its activities include the generation, distribution (transmission over electricity networks) of electricity, electricity trading (sale to wholesalers and end customers), sale of gas and lighting services, as well as the generation, distribution and sale of heat. The main features of the Group are:

- 185 k km of power lines;
- App. 9 k employees with employment contracts;

The parent company of the Group is Energa SA, based in Gdańsk. It has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since December 2013. Resources needed
The Group joined EMAS register in 2016, with 10 subsidiaries, 159 sites and app. 5 k employees, as one of the largest EMAS organizations in Poland and the scheme is continuing, despite the growth and development of the organization (app. 9 k employees 431 sites, 17 subsidiaries in 2018).
Evidence of success
The organisation is the largest EMAS registered entity in Poland, especially in terms of the number of employees (9 000). This is worth acknowledging, the more so because in Europe there are still too few institutions interested in environmental aspects related to this certification.
Potential for learning or transfer
In this case, we are dealing with a large institution, operates in the field of energy production (mainly from renewable sources), which maintains high standards of environmental management as an organization. This good example, scaled within the European regions - different large companies, may have really a great pro-environmental effect.
