EIT Manufacturing HUB in Győr
About this good practice
Local manufacturing industry supplies multinational companies on a very high quality and precision level, but the potential to innovate is much higher than performance values show. Supplier companies start to realize the need for technological, procedural or product innovation but they often miss out on new perspectives, knowledge or concepts. Thus, we see a huge potential in connecting traditional manufacturing companies with startups, resulting in new, innovative technologies and products from Hungary. By bringing an internationally renowned actor, EIT Manufacturing to the region through a Hub, we aim to strengthen the position of Hungary internationally on the innovation map by defining a key sector in which Hungary has comparative advantage. Hungarian economy is also going through the fourth industrial revolution which poses significant challenges but also brings new opportunities. For time being, the transition to digitalisation and industry 4.0 is happening with limited coordination across the actors. With Start IT Up Association, we see this as a chance to lead this digital transition and bring best practices to Hungary by joining EIT Manufacturing as the Hub of Hungary. We are ready to provide powerful support to the ecosystem and work for the competitiveness and digitalisation of the sector to use it as an opportunity to keep as much manufacturing capacity in Hungary, thus in Europe as possible.
