About this good practice
The main objective of the conferences is to discuss about current problems related to thematic blocks and green public procurement. During the conference, representatives of various industries present information on the potential use of green public procurement in the sector they represent.
The conferences are divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part includes presentations of the possibilities to apply environmental aspects in the tendering process as well as information on GPP related policies. In the practical part, the speakers present information on the applied environmental aspects in the conducted contract award procedures, what is usually reflected in the description of the subject-matter of contract, contract award criteria or contract performance clauses.
The conferences have been held annually for 13 years, (except for 2018, where 2 conferences on GPP were organised) each attended by app.100-140 people. The conferences are attended by representatives of central government units as well as regional and local administration units and their entities.

Evidence of success
The conference has been a very popular information dissemination event for over 13 years. Representatives of contracting authorities meet on recurrent basis and discuss the current situation related to green public procurement. Each conference presents a different thematic block of issues allowing its participants to obtain a wider perspective of GPP policy. By presenting the case studies and allowing for the exchange of views and opinions, the conference fosters the actual GPP uptake in Poland.
Potential for learning or transfer
The popularity of GPP conferences showcases the importance of this very policy among the contracting authorities and general public. A common exchange of experience makes it possible to spread the knowledge where and how environmental aspects can be applied. The more participants of such events, the more chances to increase the GPP uptake nationwide.
