Digital technologies for sustainable construction

This project aims to utilize digital technologies to promote sustainable construction in Ireland and reduce the negative environmental and ecological impact of the industry. Using data from internationally renowned, building certification systems (BREEAM, LEED, and HPI) this project engages Artificial Intelligence to inform the development of a data platform complete with a data visualization dashboard, assessment and recommender capabilities. Collective intelligence will allow information flows amongst industry participants to gain insights and knowledge from their counterparts. In the latter stage (Award) a training/engagement component will utilize Extended Realities to create a bespoke virtual environment in which stakeholders can collaborate during the sustainable construction projects phases. Virtual training classrooms and conferences will facilitate (re/up)skilling within the industry and showcase emergent projects/technologies relevant to the Irish construction industry.
