2nd Local Stakeholder Seminar in Navarre

Several local waste entities, companies working on e-waste, e-waste producers and the Technological Centre Lurederra have meet up with the Government of Navarra and Environmental Management of Navarra involved in the WEEEWaste project within the Interreg Europe Programme to discuss the situation regarding e-waste for improving regional policies in Navarra.

The stakeholder seminar consisted of a visit to the Waste Electrical and Electronic equipment plan ECOINTEGRA, which began its activity in 2007, progressively expanding its activity untill today, at which time it is authorized to treat main categories of WEEE (large appliances, small appliances, etc.).

Afterwards, a presentation on the WEEEWaste project was held by the Government of Navarra. The Lurederra Technology Center presented a study to be carried out about the situation in Navarra of e-waste and its waste in relation to critical raw materials.

The presentations were followed by a discussion about the WEEE problems in Navarra and proposal of future lines of work. Towards the end of the seminar, Navarra presented studies on the carbon footprint of waste in Navarra.
