The third Policy Learning Platform Peer Review in Research and Innovation will be hosted by the Regional Council of Region SUD Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur on 17-18 December 2019 in Marseille, France.
Five talented peers from Denmark, Estonia, and Finland, and Switzerland are coming together to discuss how to integrate the priority 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the healthcare sector' in the region’s Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3).
During this two-day event, the peers and the host country will discuss funding mechanism, smart specialisation, digitalisation strategies for healthcare companies, and international value chain.
Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3) is a place-based policy concept to support regional prioritisation in innovative sectors, fields or technologies through the entrepreneurial discovery process (EDP). A bottom-up approach to reveal what a region does best in terms of its science and technology endowments.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is a term used to describe machines performing humanlike cognitive functions such as learning, understanding, reasoning or interacting. AI is at the centre of Industry 4.0 transformation.
