Insights from 5th Regional Stakeholder Meeting in Mazovia

On Thursday, January 30, we had the pleasure of holding the fifth meeting of the Regional Stakeholder Group of the SECON project, during which we presented detailed information on recent activities and the next steps that will be implemented in the SECON project.
Work in the project is progressing according to plan and we are in the process of achieving one of the main goals of the project, that is, approval by the Project Leader of our proposals for changes to the policy instrument for the Mazovian Region.

Our meeting was a very good opportunity for Ms. Katarzyna Wozniak - Head of the ESF Implementation Management Department to present information on calls for proposals under the Operational Program European Funds for Mazovia 2021-2027, Measure 8.1: Social and Professional Activation. One of the bonus criteria in the call is the implementation of the project by a social economy entity (PES) or in partnership with a PES. The application of the criterion is aimed at strengthening the potential of PES and increasing their participation in the implementation of tasks under the call.
In the next point of the meeting, Mr. Krzysztof Pilecki from the Mazovian Center for Social Policy, presented how social inclusion and social economy are currently developing in Mazovia and what social economy initiatives will be implemented in 2025. As always, there was no shortage of interesting initiatives on the part of MCPS, and the next planned events are also an interesting offer for Mazovian entities from the social economy sector.

At the end of the meeting, Ms. Ewelina Gzowska President of the Social Cooperative “Pożytek”, shared her reflections from a study visit to our partner in the SECON project of the Spanish region of Extremadura. The visit, among other things, included a review of good practices such as the educational cooperative “Licenciados Reunidos” which runs an educational institution that educates children and young people from early childhood to the age of eighteen, and the Shepherds' School run by the Cooprado Foundation. Among other things, the Foundation is implementing the 21st Century Shepherds Project, which aims to increase professionalism in the management of extensive livestock and landscapes for fire prevention. Another center visited during the visit was the Jesus Usón Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery, which is one of the few centers in the world combining research and training in minimally invasive surgical techniques. The center has 570 scientific collaborators, focusing on research, innovation and technological development in the field of community health.
Thank you all for attending the meeting and for your involvement, valuable comments and inspiring ideas! We hope that our cooperation will be equally fruitful in the next stages of the SECON project.
