The Smart Specialisation (S3) Forum 2023 takes place in Barcelona on 28 November. The S3 Forum is organised by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) with the support of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the S3 Community of Practice (S3 CoP) Secretariat.

The S3 Forum is followed by a side event “Catalunya’s S3 in action: shared agendas explained by their main players” on 29 November 2023.

The S3 Forum is the key yearly bottom-up event of the S3 CoP, providing a platform for S3 practitioners, experts, policymakers, and other stakeholders to network, engage in discussions on S3 policy and implementation issues, and exchange information and best practices.

Interreg Europe at S3 Forum

We will also be present at the S3 Forum. You can meet one of our Policy Learning Platform's Thematic Experts, Marc Pattinson, in one of the workshops. Marc is one of the panelists in Parallel session 3 (11:00 to 12:30): From Local Strengths to Interregional Cooperation.

Please note that no webstreaming is available for the session, as the parallel sessions take place in person. If you will participate in person, make sure to include this session in your agenda and join us for a discussion on experiences and activities related to implementing Smart Specialisation Strategies in regions
