About this good practice
The company started its activity by developing technical projects, economic studies and providing technical advice to offshore aquaculture production companies.
Marisland agreed in 2009 on a protocol with the Regional Government of Madeira Island at Calheta Mariculture Center (C.M.C),
The aims were to promote education in aquatic science and technology; promote education and training in aquaculture,
Production and supply of gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata) juveniles between 2-5g live weight to regional fish farms.
Develop studies and projects leading to improved production and diversification in marine aquaculture, with "new species" of fish such as Common sargo (Diplodus sargos), Pink dentex (Dentex gibbosus) and Greater amberjack (Seriola dumerili).
Conversion to Organic Production, first promising and interesting results.
New food item, the copepods
In 2016, Marisland was associated with a large Portuguese distribution group, Jerónimo Martins, for a new offshore production project.
