RREUSE is the European Network of social enterprises in re-use, repair and recycling. The network together with its members gather expertise in these three important steps towards waste prevention.

Policymakers in Europe are aware of the Commission's Waste Framework Directive and the importance of appropriate measures to prevent waste generation. This directive equally encourages the increase of the lifespan of products and the promotion of re-use including through the establishment and support of re-use and repair networks, such as those run by social economy enterprises.

In this context, regional and local authorities that wish to develop re-use activities in their territories might be interested in this upcoming online event: Re-use & Repair Online Study Tour for Municipalities and Public waste companies.

Organised by RREUSE, it will take place on 9 and 10 December, and it includes:

  • Interactive video site visit of a re-use facility
  • Online workshop on practical aspects of how public authorities can support re-use organisations and activities from a legal, economic and partnership perspective.
  • Putting a spotlight on the most pertinent aspects of re-use for the public sector
  • Opportunities for exchange directly with practitioners in the field
