FutureECOS: Future-proof living space in growth corridor regions
Regions located between national growth poles face challenges and opportunities in future-proofing their economies. They cannot compete with metropolitan growth poles, but can revitalise attractiveness in housing and living space. An integrated territorial approach to housing and living space brings together digitalisation (smart design/housing/regions), with environment (sustainable living space) and social concerns (quality housing, inclusiveness, health, leisure).
This is the concept of “Future-proof living spaces” promoted by the FutureECOS project, funded by the 2nd Interreg Europe call and starting on 1 April 2024. FutureECOS is coordinated by the Regional Council of Häme, Finland. It brings together 6 partners from 4 growth corridor territories, in Finland, Ireland, Croatia and Romania.
We would like to extend the partnership to regional/local public authorities, in the new countries. They should be located in territories that are outside, but connected to metropolitan cities.
