The Open Society Foundation for Albania (Fondacioni Shoqëria e Hapur për Shqipërinë) is a non-profit, independent, non-governmental, and non-political organization part of the Open Society Foundations (OSF) network, established and funded in 1994 by investor and philanthropist George Soros. The network, consisting of 30 Foundations, operates in 70 countries worldwide.
The aim of the Open Society Foundations network is to support justice and human rights, freedom of expression, the right to education and healthcare, and the defense and promotion of values such as: a vital civil society; promoting social initiatives; respect for diversity of opinions; the protection of the rights of minorities and marginalized groups.
Currently, in addition to regional projects in the Western Balkans focused on renewable energy, European and regional integrations, and the green transition, we are serving as the lead partner in two EU-funded projects: 'EU for Inclusive Teaching' and 'Inclusive Edu Jobs,' each with a total budget of 4.6 million euros, amounting to 2.3 million euros each. These projects are dedicated to inclusive education and promoting Roma inclusiveness. Based on our portfolio and experience in regional initiatives and EU projects, our goal is to expand the project portfolio, either on existing projects or through ongoing calls.
