The vast majority of landfills in the EU countries are 'non-sanitary' ones that are harmful to the environment, the climate and the health of Europe’s citizens. With landfill rehabilitation, opportunities can be created such as regaining land and resources for new use. Join us on 2 March from 15:00 to 16:30 for an interactive webinar and see what the solutions might be.
This webinar is for local and regional policymakers that want to learn about the regional opportunities for landfill rehabilitation.
Experts will introduce their approaches of regaining land for housing and nature parks as well as landfill mining and the use of landfill gas to run local buses or waste trucks. Take a look at what you can expect:
  • Jan Frank Mars from the COCOON project will share the good practice on: Mining two former landfills to develop a housing area
  • Clyde Falzon Bouvett from the COCOON project will present their good practice: Back to nature: Rehabilitation of a landfill into a family park
  • Maciej Maderak from the REGIO-MOB project will inspire you with the good practice: An inoperative landfill goes gas station: Biogas as a vehicle fuel

Besides presentations from our environment and resource efficiency experts and invited speakers, there will be time for questions and an interactive discussion. Do you have any questions for our experts? Don't hesitate to share your questions when signing up for the webinar!
