A thematic workshop on ‘Opportunities for the uptake of industrial symbiosis in European regions’.

The Policy Learning Platform organised a thematic workshop on ‘Opportunities for the uptake of industrial symbiosis in European regions’ in Helsinki on 22 and 23 May 2019.
During the workshop, our environment and resource efficiency thematic experts focused on how  the effectiveness of regional policies for stimulating and developing Industrial Symbiosis (IS) can be improved in European regions.
Where the first day focused on exploring the challenges and ways for uptake of industrial symbiosis. The second day consisted of a study visit to the Envor Group Ltd. During the study visit, the role of regions in facilitating Industrial Symbiosis was discussed. This was followed by a visit to several stakeholders of Forssa Symbiosis in the City of Forssa.
