About this good practice
ZWUP is the first range of concentrated soups for cooking, produced entirely in
Romania, with exclusively natural ingredients.
ZWUP concentrated soups are obtained by long slow boiling and are preserved by methods that preserve the entire nutritional content.
The recipes do not contain dyes, preservatives, flavour enhancers or other synthetic substances. ZWUP is a 100% Romanian product.
What types of ZWUP are there?
• Concentrated bone broths
• Mixed concentrated soups
• Concentrated vegetable soups
Cream-soups, ready to eat – for HORECA industry at the beginning but, due to Covid 19 outbreak and the problem generated be it, the Retail sector was the only chance to continue the activity of the company.
Ready-to-eat cream soups represent a delicious snack or meal for all lovers of good food, looking for a quick and handy solution.
Why use ZWUP?
Added to food, as a basis for cooking or as an adjuvant in recipes, the ZWUP concentrated soups offers 3 simultaneously advantages: potentiates the taste of food, simplifies and shortens the cooking process, add valuable nutrients.
After long waits, they finally provide access to natural concentrated soups, locally produced, to actually help domestic/retail clients and professional ones/chefs in their kitchens by reducing the time of meal preparation and, last but not least, by reducing human errors in the production process. Also, ZWUP gives the «true taste» to the food, acquired in the healthiest way, from proximity ingredients.
Resources needed
This project was financed through Start-Up Nation Program (40.000 Euro) and Factory by Raiffeisen Bank (50.000 Euro).
Evidence of success
ZWUP product is already present in three large retail networks at national level and they also collaborate with online platforms marketplace and other classical providers for HORECA sector.
Potential for learning or transfer
ZWUP is the first Romanian range of natural concentrated soups, to be used as bases for cooking in kitchens.
The ZWUP product team that implemented the project developed this concept for :
• Filing with a local product a missing gap from food industry sector;
• Promoting the natural food and simplify and shorten the processes of cooking.
• Supporting consumers by facilitating access to a qualitative product obtained from local agro-food products.
• Improving the way of cooking is an important step in the process of increasing sustainability and circularity for HORECA sector.
