About this good practice
The school building was built in Fiano Romano municipality (RM) in the 70's. It consists of three levels with flat roof.
The main direction of the complex is southeast and it is here that the major disadvantages are concentrated during the warm season due to the presence of numerous windows.
This direction has allowed the displacement of the photovoltaic strings on the third floor roof, according to proper exposure.
For economic reasons only the fixtures associated with the south east prospect have been replaced because field inspection and thermal audit revealed that it is the most disadvantaged area during the hot months.
On the roof of the first and second floor the old insulations have been dismantled, the right thickness of rigid thermal insulator has been applied and the waterproof layer has been restored.
Finally, thermo valves have been installed on the existing radiators.

Resources needed
The investment of this project was: € 245.288,65
Evidence of success
The displacement of the photovoltaic strings on the third floor roof, according to proper exposure give a peak power of 15.75 kwp
Potential for learning or transfer
The project is replicable in other buildings throughout the region. Both in private and in public buildings like this one.
Organizations involved learned the financial and reporting methodology required by European programming, making it easier to implement future projects.
