Refugees and their integration into the labour market
About this good practice
In response to the humanitarian crisis resulting from the influx of Ukrainian refugees escaping conflict, the Greek Catholic Charity swiftly shifted its operations from the Ukrainian borders to Prešov. Recognizing the pressing need for immediate assistance, they established a collaboration with the regional labor office to address the multifaceted challenges faced by the displaced population. The collaboration with the labor office plays a pivotal role in empowering refugees. Employees from the labor office actively engage with the charity support centers, providing valuable guidance, information, and advice to refugees. This direct involvement enhances the accessibility of resources, ensuring that refugees can make informed decisions about their employment and skill development opportunities. Through this partnership, refugees gain access to a range of courses designed to enhance their skills and increase their employability. This practice reflects a comprehensive strategy to not only address the immediate crisis but also empower refugees for long-term resilience and successful integration into their new communities.
