Study visit Maribor (Slovenia)

We visited several locations where Nature Based Solutions were introduced. One was the Pekre stream, 2 kilometer of new green spaces designed with nature based solutions for flood prevention and increased biodiversity! This area provides shade and cool resting places, allows more water in the stream and has a great effect on our well-being, offering a wonderful green walking area with flowers along the stream.

We also went to a passive kindergarten, where zero emissions count and everything was sustainably built with wood. 

We also were informed about other relevant projects such as Ready 4 heat (Interreg Central Europe), the city's strategy and heat action plan, about participatory processes and the urban plan for trees for the future.
