P2P - Packaging to Polymers, is a project based on a new Joint Venture made up of Unilever and Seri Plast.

SERI PLAST S.P.A. is active in producing and recycling of plastic materials and it controlled of Seri Industrial S.p.A.
The scope is the Industrial reconversion of UNILEVER SITE IN POZZILLI transferring it to the new company P2P in order to switch from detergents production for house and clothing to production of recycled plastic.
P2P and Unilever are defining terms and conditions of a long-term commercial partnership for the supply to Unilever of plastic raw materials recovered from post-consumer packaging, resulting in the company's competitive advantage on the market and in compliance with EU and national decisions aimed at reducing pollution related to the use of plastic.
PROSPECTS
The plant will become one of the most advanced sites in Europe for the production of recycled plastic and the only one in Southern Italy capable of recovering post-consumer mixed plastic, otherwise destined for waste-to-energy plants and cement factories.

Evidence of success
P2P - Packaging to Polymers is based on 2 succesful UNILEVER strategies:
1) "Clean Future" strategy aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of its cleaning and laundry products by keeping them unchanged or increasing their performance
2) the global program "Future of work“: the workers of the Pozzilli plant will all be employed in the new location with an integrated support program including technical training in order to let to operate at their best in the new production reality.

P2P - Packaging to Polymers allows:
- to support the sustainability Agenda in Europe
- to create a stable and solid future safeguarding employment and related industries
- to reach the ambitious goal of a world without quick waste (Circular zero-waste model)
- to have climate-neutral, and resource-efficient
- to use the mechanical recycling method to process PE (polyethylene), PP (Polypropylene) and PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) also Food Grade
- to ensure in the long run a steady supply of the high quality PCR (post-consumer recycled plastic)
- to meet a growing market need: strong demand for recycled packaging in Europe but supply is currently scarce.
