About this good practice
PROCIÊNCIA 2020, Incentive System for the Production of Scientific and Technological Knowledge of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, has the direct target of companies (SMEs and Non-SMEs) and aims to strengthen the competitive capacity of the regional economy through the dynamization of projects in strategic areas Research, Development and Innovation (R & D & I) in companies, between companies and entities that integrate the Regional System for Research, Technology and Innovation Development (SRDITI) and higher education institutions, fully aligned with the objectives and priorities defined in the framework of the regional RIS3, in order to guarantee a threshold of technological competences that allow to transform the knowledge generated in new products and services. The objective of this project is to promote the creation of innovative solutions in domiciliary care in regional chains of innovation, cooperation between public and private (Business, Research & education, Public administration and Civil society) where the objective is the improvement of the application of the structural funds thanks to the implementation of international policies.
These improvements are planned to be implemented at a strategic level with government support as well as practical levels for supporting high-quality projects. Thus, PROCUNDO 2020 aims to support health research projects that can promote and develop home support for people with special needs.

Resources needed
The financial envelope envisaged for this incentive scheme is € 16.47 million, provided by the Managing Authority for the ERDF component ( 85%) and 15% by the Regional Budget. The human resources allocated will have experience in the area of project analysis and execution control.
Evidence of success
PROCÊNCIA 2020 has a 50% execution rate, with a strong possibility of reaching 100% at the end of the Operational Program (Madeira 14-20). Twenty-six research and development projects were presented, of which one is linked to home care.

Extensive experience in the management and coordination of European funds. Compliance with regional standards, applicable national and Community, in particular its compatibility with Community policies with regard to compliance with the competition rules, the award of public contracts, the protection and improvement of the environment and the promotion of equal opportunities.
