About this good practice
The introduction of telework in the public sector aimed to address the need for a more flexible work environment and promote innovation. Laval Agglo recognised the potential benefits of teleworking, such as increased productivity, reduced commuting time and improved work-life balance
Laval Agglo achieved its objectives of implementing teleworking in the public sector by carefully considering the necessary resources and establishing internal regulations.Approx. 15 to 20 employees from different job categories willingly participated in the teleworking experiment. To support their remote work, employees were provided with laptops, mobile phones, and additional equipment as needed. The experiment included a 6-month to 1-year evaluation period for both the participating employees and their supervisors, during which their performance and experience were assessed. The outcomes of this evaluation was then presented to an internal piloting group for further review and potential implementation of teleworking
The practice of teleworking in Laval Agglo demonstrated positive results in terms of professional quality of life, efficiency and work organization. After 1 yr of teleworking experiment, the participating agents recognized the significant improvements in their work-life balance and overall productivity. However, the agents also expressed the need for further evolution in teleworking conditions, including increased flexibility and the option to telework for a half-day or two full days
