Digitisation of the Municipal and City Office of Sokołów Małopolski

About this good practice
The project comes from the Regional Operational Programme of the Podkarpackie Region and aims to improve the quality and expand the range of public services provided electronically. Institutions can participate in activities that expand public services, integrate distributed systems, develop regional information systems, and promote interoperability with national systems. The use of modern information technologies improved the state of computerization and expand the range of services. In the case of supporting the development of the Office of the Urban-Rural Municipality and City of Sokołów Małopolski, support has been given to activities that allow people to handle official matters over the Internet - quickly, without queues and leaving home, at the time and place of their choice. The project provided implementation, testing and launch of 15 e-services: e-payment - agricultural, real estate and forestry taxes of natural persons and legal persons, municipal waste management fee, tax on transport vehicles, invoice for water supply and sewage disposal; e-declaration of waste - municipal waste management fee; e-certificate of taxes - issuance of a certificate on the size of an agricultural holding, agricultural land from tax systems; e-certificate accounting - issuance of a certificate of no arrears or arrears in taxes; e-communication service; e-reading - entering water meter readings and providing invoices; e-journal - efficient and quick management of the educational process.

The project has contributed to increasing the availability of e-services. The launch of new e-services in the Office of the Municipality and City of Sokołów Małopolski resulted in an increase in the number of cases handled online. Such an effect was observed in the case of 55% of beneficiaries and in 68% of educational institutions that participated in the project. The program contributed to improving the institution's IT security and replacing IT equipment with more modern ones
Potential for learning or transfer
The implementation of e-services brings time and cost savings for both customers and the administration. E-services have the potential to become the natural way of doing things in government offices, both in Poland and around the world. Therefore, it is necessary to invest in their development and adapt digital solutions, just as is happening in business. By leveraging shared knowledge and experiences, public services can evolve more effectively, ultimately benefiting citizens and communities. Promoting the development of the project will help improve the country's public administration.
