A COMMUNITY MOBILE WOOD BOILER IN MAZET-SAINT-VOY
About this good practice
The Commune of Mazet-Saint-Voy has a public service delegation contract with ERE43 to supply multiple public and private buildings with renewable heat. ERE43, is a consulting firm with a cooperative community-oriented enterprise status (SCIC).
Since 2007, five micro-heating plants were installed by ERE43 in the municipality.
The Commune of Mazet-Saint-Voy was invested in supplying renewable heat and to so involving the local community as much as possible.
By the time they were installing their third boiler, they opted for a new model developed by ERE43; Modul’R (commercial name of the boiler room). This new model can be completely disassembled; it consists of a mini-boiler and a wood storage silo and is thus adapted to rural areas where heating supply needs are less important than in cities. The development of this model is also based on a short circuit heating; supplied with local resources in the form of chipped wood or thinning wood.
The fourth boiler room project model was set up and financed thanks to citizens' savings and the ADEME heat fund. In order to support the fundraising at local level and the communication of the project, the involvement of Énergie Partagée was requested.
The rest of the funds were provided by public actors (grant from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Regional Council).
