Vesela Yancheva

My field of research is environmental toxicology. I have a special interest in pollution responsive biomarkers for their use in environmental risk assessment and monitoring programs. I work with fish and mussels, and I'm currently studying the heavy metal, persistent organic pollutants and microplastic contamination of freshwater and marine ecosystems, and its negative effects. I am also interested in the possible risk for human health in terms of consuming contaminated seafood products.
