Metropolitan City of Genova

The Metropolitan City of Genoa is a territorial body of a large area established by law 7 April 2014 n. 56 which dictated new provisions regarding Metropolitan Cities, Provinces, Unions and mergers of Municipalities. It took over from the Province of the same name on 1 January 2015 with the same territory composed of 67 Municipalities. From the same date, the Mayor of the capital Municipality also assumed the functions of Metropolitan Mayor.
