An energy community emerging from a newly developed neighborhood

Installation of rooftop photovoltaic panels at 7 locations owned by the local administration of Cluj-Napoca, with a combined peak output capacity of 240 kW.

Thanks to European and Norwegian funding, Buteni commune formed a local prosumer community. By 2021, 20% of households in the commune became prosumers.

This is the first energy investment project in Romania through which an energy community such as the Cooperativa de Energie became an energy supplier.
