About the project
1) The enormous costs of cars: what is annual expenditure of families forced into car use by insufficient public transport, dangerous roads for bicycles? In our estimate (in Cagliari metropolitan city 170,000 incoming cars,7 million km/day, 470.000 CO2 tons/year) families spend at least 700 million € year 2) the benefit of modal rebalancing: if we reduce cars by 10% will result in savings at least 70 million € year! 3) Can car cities change? European best practices are in front of us: fast commuter transport, urban cycling, cycle stations that transform in urban cyclists commuters 4) Build action plan by inserting the best ideas of sustainable mobility, and calculate benefits of reducing cars. And propose it at Green Deal! 5) Verify results! The annual survey on mobility habits to understand the changes achieved… And how many millions € have been subtracted from the car economy, and brought back to the well-being of families!
