An innovative approach to linking and managing cultural heritage artefacts & their meaning

Cultural heritage spans not only over artworks, over artists and spectators and their ideas and interpretations. This project idea provides a novel tool to connect artists, spectators, curators, cultural objects and current topics of people’s concern. In order to approach this goal, a consortium of museums, cultural heritage managers, research institutions and citizens' associations dedicated to the preservation of cultural heritage is being formed. Together, digital tools which can collect and structure human knowledge in association with AI-based recommendations, will be implemented and tested in a pilot. These tools can be applied in museums or at historic sites, overcoming traditional roles: For example, by using the proposed system museum visitors become curators themselves, expressing, storing and communicating their view on the exhibited artefacts or historic places and associations based on individual experiences. We intend to apply for INTERREG Central or Danube funding.
