Training based seminars

About this good practice
The regional Council of Central Ostrobothnia organizes training-based seminars in collaboration with the stakeholders. These seminars are educational events that focus on in a particular subject or area and emphasize the practical application of knowledge and skills.
One example of the successful seminar is Nature Tourism Seminar which was organized in collaboration with the vocational school and entrepreneurs. This has been an annual event organized by The Federation of Education in Central Ostrobothnia.
In 2024, the Nature Tourism Seminar was held for the first time together with Central Ostrobothnia Travel Forum. This two-day event focused especially on sustainable nature tourism. The feedback from the event was very positive and the two-day event is planned to be held annually.
Finland's strengths are clean nature, our close relationship with nature and an understanding of nature's effects on well-being. Nature is an important part of the Finnish way of life, so productizing it for tourism is natural for us, and it also appears attractive to foreign tourists. Through nature tourism, it is easy for travellers to get a "live like a local" experience.
These hands-on, practical nature tourism seminars provide materials and information based on the latest research and best practices on nature tourism. In the seminar there are great opportunities for discussion, sharing ideas and finding business partners.
