Several local governments are forming their own joint social cooperative.
About this good practice
The Social Cooperative of Legal Persons "Center for Environmental Services" operates on the territory of the City and Municipality of Drobin. At the same time, it provides services that meet the real needs of local society, creates a local labor market, and counteracts social and professional exclusion. The multi-sectoral social cooperative provides an opportunity to effectively solve social problems through intersectoral cooperation while creating new jobs for people at risk of social and professional exclusion.
In March 2014, the Cooperative established an Occupational Therapy Workshop for 30 participants. People with disabilities are transported from 5 municipalities and the city of Plock.
December 27, 2015. The city and municipality of Drobin entrusted the cooperative with the operation of the "Senior+" Day Care Center. This is a day support facility for 25 seniors. In addition, since 2019, the "Senior+" Club for 15 seniors has been operating in Łęg Probostwie.
Since 2019, the Cooperative has been operating a catering business, which is its primary source of revenue. A catering establishment combined with a banquet hall titled Symphony of Taste has been opened in the Drobin area.

- Citizens, residents of the municipalities forming the cooperative
- Local governments forming the social cooperative - Słupno municipality, Bulkowo municipality, Mała Wieś municipality, Radzanowo municipality and the city and municipality of Drobin.
Resources needed
The cooperative was created with the use of funds from the European Union. Also financing under contracts with local governments for the provision of social and municipal services. In 2023 the cooperative obtained a turnover of more than 2 million PLN. In 2023, 23 people were employed.
Evidence of success
In 2023, the Cooperative had signed 6 contracts for permanent work orders with the Municipality of Slupno and Drobin. In addition, we also signed contracts for contracted services of about 10 pieces. We are engaged in the maintenance of cleanliness and order in the area of 2 shopping malls. During the year we carried out about 50 orders for local governments, companies, etc. In 2023 we obtained a turnover of more than 2 million PLN. We maintain employment at the level of 23 people.
Potential for learning or transfer
A ready-made model of cooperation of many municipalities, which with the use of cooperatives carry out municipal and welfare tasks for the residents of their municipalities. A wide range of cooperatives forming, there are no cooperatives formed by so many local governments in the Mazovian province that want to act together.
Transfer potential: the first social cooperative of legal persons in Mazovia, created by various local governments. Frequent site of study visits and search for ready-made solutions for local government units that plan to establish their own social economy entity. On the basis of our experience, the social cooperative "Podkowa of Kobylka" was established in January 2022. The founders of the Podkowa Social Cooperative are the City of Kobylka and the Municipality of Jadów, and its headquarters will be in Kobylka. The Podkowa Social Cooperative providing care services, cleaning services, handicrafts and hippotherapy.
