The revitalization of the City Park in Starachowice restored its charm, functionality, and ecological vitality, transforming it into a vibrant urban oasis. Motivated by the park’s historical, cultural, and environmental significance, the project addressed years of neglect, improving pathways, facilities, and biodiversity. The plan balanced nature and functionality, creating six thematic gardens: Deciduous Tree Garden, Sunny Rain Garden, Sun-Loving Perennial Garden, Shade-Loving Perennial Garden, Shade-Loving Rain Garden, and Exotic Garden, each enhancing biodiversity and offering unique visitor experiences. Infrastructure improvements included accessible pathways, panoramic viewpoints, and facilities like a service pavilion and an amphitheater for cultural events. Forest bathing spaces were introduced in shaded areas, promoting relaxation. Expert collaboration and public consultations ensured a sustainable, community-focused design. The revitalized park now serves as a hub for recreation, education, and ecological preservation, fostering a deeper connection between residents and nature. It stands as a symbol of sustainability and community pride, enriching urban life and leaving a lasting legacy for future generations.

Evidence of success
The revitalization of the Municipal Park has significantly enhanced its appearance, functionality, and ecological value, positively impacting residents' quality of life. Regular warranty inspections are conducted with the participation of both the contractor and the client. Additionally, the park's design received an honorable mention in the international Design Educates Awards 2023. The renovation effectively supports climate change adaptation and mitigation by expanding green spaces.

The revitalization is a modern approach to shaping urban spaces, combining environmental care, biodiversity and resident-friendly areas. Its success lies in close collaboration between municipal officials and experts, aligning ecological and social priorities. Interdisciplinary cooperation and clear communication were key to overcoming challenges. Special attention is given to thematic gardens, which not only support local ecosystems but also serve as attractive recreational and educational spaces. Their thoughtful design perfectly fits into the park's landscape while enhancing its social and integrative functions. A strong emphasis has been placed on sustainable development – from restoring native plant species, to actively protecting biodiversity. These modular and habitat-specific gardens can be replicated in other urban parks when appropriate funding is available and when there is the possibility of cooperation with various entities and nature experts in the municipality.
