About this good practice
HACKING HEALTH is a global movement to improve healthcare with a mission: Breaking down barriers to innovation in healthcare.
Hacking Health chapters are autonomous and organize regular meetups, clinics, workshops and health hackathons in partnership with local digital health stakeholders.
Hacking Health aims to engage all stakeholders inside and outside the healthcare sector, by facilitating cross-disciplinary collaborations to create fresh insights and creative solutions to current challenges.
The purposes of its initiative can be considered as a response to the challenges identified by the TITTAN project, in particular the need to promote the establishment of innovation ecosystems in the health sector.

• Supports the development of human-centric solution.

Resources needed
The team and the activities run by Hacking Health are sponsored by a number of public and private entities, among which City of Milan, Lombardy Region, Assolombarda, Agenas, Cluster lifesciences, European Commission, Start up Europe, Roche.
Evidence of success
Many of the ideas borne and developed during the hacking health initiatives have raised several million €. i.e.: RE-ABILITY, Physical rehabilitation exercises, made easy, Hacking Health Milano, 2015 Edition. Over the cours of the hackathon a working Windows application was developed and 3 different games have been implemented, each for the 3 different exercises for hand rehabilitation.
Potential for learning or transfer
Pairthe Hacking health initiative is, in itself, an example of a joint project that can be replicated in a number of different countries , allowing each Partner to module and to tweak it according to its needs and culture.
