Problem addressed: growth of mass tourism, an increased appetite for sport events and sport tourism.
In the vicinity of the geopark Mehedinti Plateau and on its territory, there are numerous historical, cultural and touristic objectives – thus the Geopark Mehedinti Adventure was born in 2022 with the aim of promoting places, history, traditions and outdoor movement, in the natural park Geopark MH Plateau.
Geopark Mehedinti Adventure is not only a mountain running and Mountain Bike competition, it is a festival of people who love nature and outdoor sports, concerts and traditional food of the area.
Main beneficiaries and stakeholders of the practice are:
• Participants – Athletes, beginners, families, outdoor sports enthusiasts
• Local Communities – Residents benefit from increased tourism and economic activity.
• Partners & Sponsors – Public and private sector entities supporting the event.

Resources needed
The Geopark MH Adventure requires ~50,000 EUR (public, sponsorship).
