End of Summer University
About this good practice
The End of Summer University is an interdisciplinary event promoted by the municipality of Braga, in partnership with universities, as part of the European Mobility Week. The programme includes lectures, round tables and workshops, providing a space for reflection and knowledge transfer between academics, experts, technicians and society in general on issues related to Sustainable Urban Mobility and Participatory Planning.
Over the course academic and non-academic experts come together to debate and share good practices, theories and methods suitable for changing the paradigm of mobility, promoting a more inclusive and sustainable vision for cities. This exchange of experiences and interdisciplinary dialogue has made it possible to deepen issues related to the resistance to changing behaviours and attitudes towards urban mobility, the promotion of active mobility and the transformation of urban spaces to new social and climatic dynamics.
This initiative is particularly relevant to the Sustainable Urban Mobility strategy, not only because of the knowledge-sharing dynamics it fosters, but also because it opens up the discussion of these issues to society. By involving citizens, political decision-makers and experts, greater awareness and co-responsibility in building more sustainable and inclusive cities is promoted.

The initiative is the result of the partnerships established between the municipality and universities, as well as the territorial co-operation networks created as part of the different projects promoted or supported by the municipality.
