Modernisation of agricultural holdings

About this good practice
One person uses several tens of liters of water per day. The smallest part is used for drinking. Much more is used for bathing, flushing the toilet, cleaning, and watering flowers at home and in the garden. Many complain about high water consumption charges, while they could save money by using free rainwater. Rainwater is good quality water, free of chlorine and other elements that could be harmful to plants, for example. Storing rainwater is a way to save money .
The investment scope may include, inter alia, the construction of wells and reservoirs for crop irrigation, the purchase of machinery and equipment for the extraction, storage, treatment, recovery, or distribution of water, irrigation installations, and irrigation control systems. Aid is granted for an operation that will be implemented without division into stages, and the material scope of the operation, including incurring the eligible costs of the operation and submitting an application for final payment, will be completed within 24 months from the date of concluding an agreement with ARMA.
Farmers who own a holding with an area of at least 1 ha and no more than 300 ha and have an entry in the register of agricultural producers kept by ARMA may apply for aid. Holdings applying for support must carry out commodity production documented by income from the sale of their own agricultural produce for a minimum of PLN 5,000 (in the 12 months preceding the month in which the application was submitted).
Resources needed
The maximum amount of aid a farmer can receive for operations in the area of on-farm irrigation in the whole implementation period of RDP 2014 - 2020 is PLN 100,000 per beneficiary and per holding.
Evidence of success
Area E (On-farm irrigation) is support for:
* improvements to an existing irrigation installation or irrigation infrastructure component,
* a net extension of the irrigated area or the creation of a new irrigation
* the improvement of an irrigation system
* purchase of computer hardware and software for irrigation purposes,
* payments for patents or licences.
Potential for learning or transfer
We consider it as worth mentioning as it could include information on key success factors that would facilitate the transfer of the practice, as well as factors that could hinder the transfer. If possible, please provide details about transfers that have already taken place, including the country, region (NUTS 2), and organization to which the practice was transferred.
It is worth noting that a good practice can be edited throughout a project's lifespan to add information about any transfers that have occurred.
Running a farm consumes considerable amounts of water - both in animal husbandry and crop production. Reducing the intake of tap water is therefore not only environmentally friendly but also wallet-friendly. This can be achieved, among other things, by storing rainwater.
