Project summary
Smart specialisation is a long-term journey. Creating real impact – like driving innovation or supporting the green transition – takes time and dedication. But too often, short-term goals and funding calls take the spotlight.
Regions across Europe face similar challenges. How do we build innovation systems that last? Ones that meet today’s needs while paving the way for a sustainable future – economically, socially and environmentally.
That’s where this project comes in. It supports regional authorities and agencies in strengthening long-term cooperation around smart specialisation. By developing practical frameworks and tools, the project helps regions build strong, inclusive networks with lasting commitment from key actors.
The approach is bottom-up. It builds on engagement through the Entrepreneurial Discovery Process and other participatory methods, ensuring that collaboration is rooted in real regional needs and ambitions.
Together, we’re shaping smarter, more sustainable regions – ready for the future.
