Project summary
INVOLVIM project focuses on developing informal and voluntary services for work based immigrants in the partner regions. Through exchange of experience project's overall objective is to influence policy instruments in partner regions or locally in order to develop better services for immigrants.
The project aims to address gaps in existing service provision by targeting those who are often overlooked, such as immigrant employees, homemakers, and retirees. By facilitating the exchange of experiences, INVOLVIM seeks to influence local policies and instruments to provide better support for immigrant integration. This includes addressing needs related to housing, education, hobbies, and language studies, ultimately preventing social exclusion and enhancing community integration efforts across multiple sectors.
Key focus areas include:
- Ensuring comprehensive integration services beyond existing categories like refugees or students.
- Engaging various stakeholders like employers, public authorities, and NGOs to provide tailored support.
- Expanding access to essential services that aid in long-term immigrant settlement and social inclusion, improving overall community cohesion.
Partnership consist of five regions across Europe representing regions, cities and one education institution. Partners are:
- Regional Council of South Ostrobothnia (Finland, lead partner)
- Municipality of Fundão together with associated policy authority Centro Regional Coordination and Development Commission (Portugal)
- City of Plock (Poland)
- Municipality of Litija and Education centre Geoss (Slovenia)
- Louth County Council (Ireland).
