Meeting of the Local Stakeholders in Litija, Slovenia #2

On Thursday, 20 March 2025, the second stakeholders’ meeting of the INVOLVIM project took place in the meeting room of the Municipality of Litija. The focus of the meeting was a highly relevant and timely topic: the integration of labour migrants in the local community.
The project brings together a diverse group of stakeholders—representatives from various organisations and companies that collectively shape Litija’s local environment. Participants included:
– Public institutions – alongside the Municipality of Litija (project partner), representatives from the Litija Administrative Unit and the Litija Labour Office were present;
– Education sector – representatives from IC GEOSS (project partner) and Litija Primary School;
– Private sector – including Predilnica Litija d.o.o. (Litija Spinnery factor) and Trgograd d.o.o. (one of the largest construction companies in the region);
– Youth sector – represented by Youth Centre Litija;
– and a representative from the Government Office for the Care and Integration of Migrants.
The meeting was held in the form of a facilitated workshop using the flash decision-making method, designed to help groups reach democratic decisions quickly and efficiently. The central question posed to the participants was:
What drives or challenges us in developing and delivering informal and volunteer-based services for labour migrants in Litija – and how can we overcome these obstacles?
Through this method, the group quickly reached consensus on key motivators, challenges, and proposed solutions — some requiring minor, others more substantial effort and resources. The workshop was facilitated by Enej Gradišek, a local entrepreneur and experienced facilitator with over a decade of experience in the field.
This collaborative session successfully brought together stakeholders who, in various capacities, engage with labour migrants and the broader issue of integration. The participants entered into an open, democratic dialogue that will serve as a foundation for future decision-making and the integration of this topic into the Municipality of Litija’s Long-Term Development Programme.
There was clear agreement: now is the time to act. For meaningful progress, active cooperation and coordinated efforts among all local stakeholders will be essential to ensure a future of peaceful coexistence in a democratic and inclusive society.
