Project summary
JETSKIR aims to facilitate a just transition of industrial regions, balancing ecology, competitiveness and social issues, while engaging all stakeholders. It seeks to exchange experiences among partner city regions on organizing this transition integratively. The project fosters integrated, just, and sustainable policies to equip industrial regions with the right skills and knowledge to excel in their industrial transition.
From Albania to Spain, from Finland to Montegro, industrial regions need to organise three interrelated transitions: a labour market transition (retraining the workforce), a circular transition (saving resources), and an energy transition (towards renewables). Policies and skills need to be adjusted and advanced to allow for a holistic approach in this triple transition.
While all partners work with this common vision for an industry-positive transition, they represent diverse stages of the process and each has their unique practices. The project allows them to unite their expertise and commitment to drive collaborative policy development.
At its core, the project seeks to bolster the capacity and skills of public authorities and associated business networks. By embracing principles of a just transition, partners aim to systematically navigate trade-offs, integrate local and global perspectives, and cultivate innovative ideas.
