Kick-off für EU-Projekt JETSKIR Zukunftskompetenzen im Fokus
Die Arbeitswelt wandelt sich rasant – neue Berufe entstehen, bestehende verschwinden. Um diesen Umbruch aktiv zu gestalten, startet am 26. Juni 2025 das EU-geförderte Projekt JETSKIR (Zukunftskompetenzen) mit einem Kick-off-Event im Handwerkerhof Wanheimerort. An drei Tagen bringt die Veranstaltung europäische Partner:innen zusammen, um über industrielle Transformation und Entwicklungen auf dem Arbeitsmarkt zu diskutieren – mit Impulsen von Arbeitgebern, Agenturen und Forschenden. Keynotes, Podiumsdiskussionen und eine Postersession bieten Raum für praxisnahe Ansätze und regionale Perspektiven. Den Abschluss bildet eine Exkursion zu Thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG mit Einblicken in die Transformation vor Ort.

Gemeinsam mit Partner:innen, darunter Aviles City Council (Spanien), Austria Wirtschaftsservice (Österreich), Business Tampere (Finnland), Ministry of economic development (Montenegro) und Institute for Albanian Municipalities (Albanien) will die Duisburg Business & Innovation GmbH (DBI) neue Qualifizierungswege für moderne Arbeitswelten entwickeln.
JETSKIR ist Teil eines Förderpakets von 9,9 Millionen Euro, das die DBI in diesem Jahr für Duisburg und die Region eingeworben aus europäischen Mitteln eingeworben hat. Im Mittelpunkt steht die Transformation für ein grünes und digitales Europa. Praxisnahe Weiterbildungen in zukunftsrelevanten Bereichen wie Digitalisierung, Nachhaltigkeit sind dabei essentiell. – ein starkes Signal für die Stärkung der europäische Fachkräftebasis.

Kick-off for EU project JETSKIR: Focus on future skills
The world of work is changing rapidly - new professions are emerging, existing ones are disappearing. In order to actively shape this upheaval, the EU-funded JETSKIR (Zukunftskompetenzen) project will be launched on June 26th, 2025 with a kick-off event at the Handwerkerhof Wanheimerort. Over three days, the event will bring together European partners to discuss industrial transformation and developments and its consequences for the labor market - with input from employers, agencies and researchers. Keynote speeches, panel discussions and a poster session offer space for practical approaches and regional perspectives. The event will conclude with an excursion to Thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG with insights into the transformation on site.
Together with partners including Aviles City Council (Spain), Austria Wirtschaftsservice (Austria), Business Tampere (Finland), Ministry of Economic Development (Montenegro) and Institute for Albanian Municipalities (Albania), Duisburg Business & Innovation GmbH (DBI) aims to develop new qualification paths for modern working environments.
JETSKIR is part of a funding package of 9.9 million euros including INTERREG EUROPE that DBI and its partners have raised for Duisburg and the regions this year from European funds. The focus is on transformation for a green and digital Europe. Practical training in future-oriented areas such as digitalization and sustainability is essential. - A strong signal for strengthening the European skilled labor base.
