Modern green districts

On 31 May and 1 June 2023, join us in Ghent to meet with peers and policymakers and discuss modern green districts

What will it be about

In the framework of the European Green Deal and the 2050 targets, European cities need to become climate-neutral, while also taking account of liveability and quality of life for citizens as the urban population grows.

This means integrating renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainable mobility and smart technologies into urban areas, and also considering new business models and governance approaches that can enable the acceptance of new technologies.

What you can expect

Our thematic experts Katharina Krell and Simon Hunkin will be your guides to discovering the topic of modern green districts.

Throughout guest lectures, interactive sessions, networking and study visits you will learn how to enable more sustainable and resilient urban environments in your region.

More specifically, we will focus on:

  • the renovation of derelict and post-industrial urban areas into inclusive, green spaces
  • how to introduce sustainable technologies at the district level.
