Green economy & SME competitiveness
Smart

The term "green economy" lacks a consistent definition, but the widely used one by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) emphasizes improving well-being while reducing environmental risks.

In Interreg Europe, projects addressing green topics have predominantly fallen under the thematic priority of the green economy. However, projects related to the circular economy have emerged under the SME competitiveness objective.

The session aims to provide an overview of ongoing Interreg Europe projects on the green economy, gather expectations for future activities, and stimulate interactive discussions on the scope of the green economy.
