[NEWS] Calabria: on the A2 the first two fast electric charging stations for vehicles have been activated

Two new electric vehicle charging stations have been activated  along the A2 'Mediterranean Motorway'. The stations have been installed in the Cosenza Est and Rosarno Est service areas.

The installation is part of the national plan to reduce emissions of fine dust, required by European legislation, for which Anas (National Roads Agency) has played an active role in the development of electric and sustainable mobility. Anas  has started, in cooperation with the Concessionaires and the competent Authorities, on some service areas, the procedure for the early introduction of some fast electric charging stations for motor vehicles.

The electric recharging stations are of the "multistandard" type with a "Multivendor" system that combines industry standards and high power recharging technologies. This mode of supply will ensure the compatibility of the service with all cars currently on the market and the next generation and has currently been activated in the Cosenza Est and Rosarno Est service areas.

The installed FAST Recharge system allows simultaneous refuelling of several electric vehicles and a full tank of energy in less than 20 minutes. Payment for recharging will be made through devices using NFC technology (smartphones, tablets, etc.) through the use of prepaid cards activated specifically for recharging. The super-fast columns therefore allow for the type of fast recharging facilitated by telematics applications capable of giving the service innovative features with an eye to the future.
